[The letter and envelope both are of a smooth cream-colored linen, addressed and written in a round, somewhat lilting hand in a dark orchid colored ink.
And no he's not being extra with closing the envelope with a matching orchid wax seal decorated with a feather and spider, shhhh!]
Mitsuko my new friend,
I trust this missive finds you in the most delightful of spirits and surrounded by the gentle serenity of your environs. As I take quill to parchment in this place where pen and paper are so often replaced by bright screens, impersonal text, and a facsimile of connection, I find solace in the simplicity and intimacy that letter-writing affords. Indeed, there is an unparalleled charm to the act of setting ink to paper, much akin to planting seeds in a garden, each word a tender sprout reaching for the light of understanding and connection.
It is with the most profound hope that you, too, might derive pleasure from this antiquated art, thoughts are delicately transcribed by the hand. The sensation of a letter unfolding beneath one's fingertips, of beholding the gentle flourish of a penman’s script, is something our digital counterparts cannot replicate, bereft as they are of the warmth and personal touch that imbues each stroke of the pen with the writer's very essence.
Should you find this endeavor as enchanting as I do, I hope that you might consider embarking on this endeavor with me? In this world of fleeting messages, let us aspire to craft letters that are not mere exchanges of words, but rather, letters that are rich tapestries of intriguing conversation.
The stories of our days, the musings of our nights, and the philosophies that twine themselves around our hearts—all laid bare in letters that traverse the miles between us like trusted confidantes. I eagerly await the opportunity to learn more about you, dear friend.
May this, our first exchange, be but the beginning of a most splendid correspondence, one that shall blossom and flourish amidst the pages we so happily fill. Until the time when your response graces my hands, I remain,
[Oh, it's extra alright, but how lovely! The presentation is positively romantic! Like something out of a dream. Mitsuko finds it almost a shame to open the letter and she undoes the seal with the utmost care. Then she immediately gets to writing. Notably, all of her Es look remarkably like 3s and if Mitsuko crosses anything out it's with three horizontal lines (like the kanji for the number three).]
To my new friend, Quill,
Thank you for following up on your promise to write to me. I must confess that it was very exciting to get your letter, I barely waited a minute after reading this to respond, let alone three. As I said before, I have never written much more than an address or a quick note before, but already I can see the charm in writing.
I am not even a third as verbose as you are but if you are willing to endure my attempts to try match you then I would be delighted to take up your invitation. I must warn you that many of my days tend to not be eventful, though this is mostly by choice, so don't expect an extensive trilogy of stories. I prefer my solitude, mostly baking curry bread and making dango. Even though I don't need to sell food here with my teaching job and how Lore exchanges work, cooking is relaxing to me and it's likely to be just a habit. I ran a small stall back in my world making dango and I baked nothing but curry break for two years (nearly three) before that. These days, I cook mostly for the pleasure of it. I mostly share more than two thirds of my baked goods with the spirits but next time I see you I'll make you a fresh batch. If you haven't tried either or both before, you're in for a three-eat.
I'd love to know more about you too but it is difficult to think of things to write, though I suppose that is partially my lack of experience. What would you like to know about me? Perhaps if you shared more about yourself, I'll respond in turn. If there's a better way to do this, please let me know so I can make up for it in triple time.
I hope to hear more from you soon. Thank you again for this lovely opportunity.
Letter tiiiime!
